Weifang has a long history and rich cultural heritage. After research, validation, and expert evaluation, Weifang Museum selected four major treasures of the museum, one of which is the Album of paintings and calligraphy: Fragrance of Crabapple and Catalpa.

This album, measuring 32.8 cm by 61.5 cm and executed on paper, serves as a supplementary volume to the album of paintings and calligraphy: Heritage of the Homeland, compiled by Chen Jiexi of Weihsien in the Qing Dynasty.

Apart from the handwritten catalogue and inscriptions by Chen Jieqi, it includes 16 works of painting and calligraphy by renowned local figures such as Zhou Lianggong and Cui Pu.

This artifact is the only known surviving supplementary volume.

The album's exquisite brushwork fully reflects the Weihsien Chen family's admiration for honest governance and their appreciation for virtuous officials in Weihsien, as well as those from Weifang serving elsewhere. It possesses high artistic appreciation and research value, along with significant historical importance.
