A delegation of 20 dignitaries from Tanzania, Ethiopia and Seychelles visited Zibo, a city of China’s Shandong province, from April 25 to 26. During their stay in Zibo, the delegation met with municipal leaders of the city and visited some enterprises and universities.

On April 25, Zhao Qingwen, mayor of Zibo met with the delegation. Sun Yebao, deputy director of Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Sha Xiangdong, deputy Mayor and Zong Zhijian, secretary-general of Zibo Municipal Government attended the meeting.

Zhao Qingwen briefly introduced Zibo from the aspects of history, industry, culture and education, and city openness. By vigorously promoting the opening up of education, Zibo has carried out exchanges and cooperation with many African countries in vocational skill training, personnel training, overseas education and other fields. Officials of the delegation introduced the exchanges and cooperation between their countries and China, and put forward cooperation proposals in such areas as economy and trade, education, medical care and sister cities. 

 The delegation visited Shandong Rgein Koester Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd., Shandong Shinva Medical Device Co., Ltd., to learn about their development history and main products, and inspect their training centers and production workshops. The delegation also visited Zibo Vocational Institute, where they listened to the institute's report on non-vocational skill training and overseas school-running cooperation, and experienced relevant professional training programs of the institute, such as paper-cutting, tea art and traditional Chinese medicine therapy.

The delegation is mainly composed of representatives from education, labor and other departments of the three countries as well as officials from the embassies in China. The main purpose of this visit is to promote exchanges and cooperation in vocational education between China and Africa.

In the future, Zibo will make full use of Africa’s educational resources and demands, actively promote enterprises and schools in the city to be in line with Africa's cooperation demands, and continue to cultivate high-quality cooperation projects in the fields of standard certification, vocational skill training, curriculum development, joint running of schools, so as to further deepen and expand the cooperation fields of non-vocational education in the city.
