
The 2022 Shandong-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Exhibition and Exchange Conference & Shandong (Liaocheng)--ASEAN Economic and Trade Matchmaking Fair was held on Nov. 23 in Jinan, China’s Shandong province.

The event aims to deepen economic and trade exchanges and industrial cooperation between Shandong and ASEAN countries, and further promote the high-quality implementation of RCEP in Shandong.

Sam Sorphorn, Consul General of Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Jinan, attended the event and delivered a speech. He noted that Cambodia is one of the strategic trading partners of the China-ASEAN Framework. Next year will mark the 65th anniversary of Cambodia-China diplomatic relations, and 2023 has been designated as the “Year of Cambodia-China Friendship”. “As the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2022, Cambodia will continue to play a positive role in deepen ASEAN-China cooperation.”

The event was held both online and offline. The main venue was set up in Jinan, and sub-venues were set up in cities in Shandong and Manila, the Philippines. In addition, the organizer conducted a synchronous live video broadcast of the event online to overcome the adverse impact of the epidemic.

More than 40 enterprises from Shandong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam participated in the "one-to-one" economic and trade negotiation and reached preliminary agreements on more than 10 intentions, covering the fields of equipment manufacturing, building materials, home textiles, food, steel manufacturing, energy saving technology, medical equipment, auto parts and so on.
