The finals of the Third China International Chinese Clothing Design Competition were held in Shandong Radio and Television Station on September 4. The 33 pieces of works for the finals were displayed on-site and assessed by the judges. Final awards included Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards, as well as the Virtual Gold Award, Best Element Innovation Award, Best Craftsmanship Award, Best Online Popularity Award, and Chinese Clothing Short Video Award.

Themed "Beauty of Clothing, Feast of Colour," the third China International Chinese Clothing Design Competition has showcased Chinese clothing trends and the importance of colors. Since the competition's application period started on February 25, 2023, there have been 2,652 submissions from 31 provinces and municipalities, and also from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, as well as Italy, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea, setting a new record for the total number of submissions.

With a focus on the theme of "Chinese colours," the competitors combined regional and ethnic cultural traits of various locations, adopted traditional techniques such as plant dyeing, hand-beading, leather carving, and weaving, and used modern technology to innovate and reshape fabrics such as silk, gambiered Guangdong gauze, and coarse cloth, presenting a diversified, high-end, and international style.

The young designers, while emphasising the sense of design, have also given more consideration to wearability and market demand, which is novel and admirably reflects the depth of Chinese culture, the professionalism of fashion design, the fashionability of global trends, and the age of modern technology.

Guided by All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC) , Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Shandong Provincial Education Department, Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, Shandong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the competition is co-organised by China Fashion Association, Shandong Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Shandong Radio and TV Station and Shandong Fashion Association.

Since the first China International Chinese Clothing Design Competition was held in 2021, it has been held for three consecutive years. It has developed into a venue for advancing national costume tradition and showcasing the elegance of Chinese clothing.  As a sizable event that primarily focuses on the design, research, production, and promotion of Chinese clothing, the competition is winning international recognition for its highest level, broadest reach, and tgreatest influence on the Chinese clothing design industry.

The award-winning works will be presented and exhibited on September 17 in Milan, Italy, where a series of activities such as "Nishan World Civilisation Forum on the Beauty of Eastern and Western Costumes", "Ming and Qing Dynasty and Modern Chinese Costume Exhibition" will be held simultaneously.
