On Feb. 21, the“Friendly Shandong, Remarkable Shandong ‘I love you’”experience activity of international students was held in Yanzhou District, Jining City of Shandong Province. Eight international students from Pakistan, Zambia and other countries participated in the event to feel the unique beauty of Yanzhou.

They first visited Yan Embroidery Studio in Yanzhou Cultural Center. There are majestic landscape paintings, lifelike pictures of flowers and birds, and grand ink and wash paintings. These are all embroidered works. The international students were astonished by their exquisite craftsmanship. Under the guidance of Zhang Juan, an inheritor of Yan Embroidery, the international students learned to embroider. “It’s a good craft. I know there are similar works in my country, but they are mostly done by girls. I felt great about doing it today.” said Zeehan from Pakistan.

“Although the temperature is a bit low outside, the insulation in this modern agricultural industry park is pretty good. It would be quite comfortable to work here,” said Basit Abdul after their trip to the modern agricultural industry park. “I hope to see the same scale of agriculture in my country in the future.”

Fatima Humna from Pakistan experienced Hanfu culture at the event.“We have our traditional costumes, which are different from Hanfu,” She said. “This is my first time to wear Chinese-style clothing. It’s so beautiful. I love it!”

“We also hope that through similar activities, international students can have a better understanding of Jining culture and tell Jining stories in their spare time,” said Zhu Lifang, the associate dean of the School of International Education of Jining Medical University.
