Yantai and Rostov-on-Don gather online to create a better future

The Yantai Sister Cities’ Cultural Exchange and Sharing Conference 2022, jointly held by Yantai City and Rostov-on-Don, wrapped up on December 21, 2022. Wang Xiaojuan, Member of the Standing Committee of Yantai Municipal Committee and Director of the Municipal Publicity Department, and Maria Kryrosova, Director of Foreign Affairs Committee of Rostov-on-Don City each delivered a speech via videos.

Yantai is speeding up the construction of an internationally leading smart low-carbon city, a modern marine city with strong development momentum, and a national innovative city with full vitality, to build a model of green, low-carbon and high-quality development, said  Wang Xiaojuan. “In 2017, Yantai and Rostov-on-Don established the friendly relations. Over the past five years, the two cities have carried out practical cooperation in education, science and technology, culture and other fields. We hope that the two cities will continue to take the "Belt and Road" Initiative as an opportunity and take the sister-city relationship as a bond to jointly create a bright future for the relationship between the two cities.”

“Yantai is one of the most reliable partners of Rostov-on-Don. This event has a novel form and rich contents, which sets up a good platform for exchanges and interactions between the two cities,” Maria Kryrosova said in her speech. We will remain committed to promoting close cooperation between the two sides and bringing more benefits to the people of the two cities, she added.

At the meeting, three Russians in Yantai were hired as the promotion officer for the “Costal Wonderland, Fresh Yantai” brand. Yantai (Rostov City) Cultural Publicity Week was launched, while "Corner of Chinese Culture - Nishan Library" was unveiled concurrently.
