Over the past decade, the regional development of Shandong province has become more coordinated, and both urban and rural areas have realized dramatic changes, according to the “Glorious decade of China · Shandong” press conference held recently in Jinan.

Committed to the path of integrated development of urban and rural areas, Shandong province has actively built a pattern of coordinated regional development with local characteristics.

The brand of Qilu model of rural revitalization has been polished, with the number of farmer cooperatives, family farms and agricultural enterprises among the top in China. A number of typical rural revitalization villages, such as Daicun Village, Sanjianxi Village and Gengdian Village, were praised by the General Secretary.

Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration has been significantly upgraded, and the pattern of "one cluster, two centers, three circles" has been accelerated to take shape. The urbanization rate of permanent residents in the province has increased by nearly 12 percentage points.

The infrastructure construction has been accelerated across the province, with the length of high-speed railways now ranking third in China and the mileage of expressways among the top in China again. The cargo throughput of coastal ports now ranks first in China, exceeding 940 million tons in the first half of this year. The construction of a modern airport cluster has been accelerated, and the capacity for ensuring water security has been significantly improved, providing more solid support for development.
