According to the Department of Finance of Shandong Province, in order to support the building of a comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, from January to February this year, the province allocated 13.54 billion yuan,to support the construction of major railways, airports, highways and waterways.

In terms of the upgrading and transformation of the highway network, 7.2 billion yuan was allocated to support the construction of ordinary national and provincial highways, and promote the expansion of bottleneck sections of 90 national and provincial trunk lines totaling more than 1,900 kilometers, the reconstruction of sections passing through the city, and the major and medium-scale repairs of damaged sections. 520 million yuan was allocated for the construction of “Four Good Rural Roads”, to promote the construction of rural highway infrastructure network.

In terms of the creation of modernized airport groups, 420 million yuan was allocated to support the construction and operation of 8 civil transport airports and 17 general-purpose airports in Jinan, Yantai, Weihai, etc., and support the development of regional aviation and the improvement of safety capabilities of Shandong Airlines Group.

In terms of densifying the high-speed railway network, 4.9 billion yuan of government special bond funds were issued and timely allocated to subsidize the construction of the Weihai-Yantai high-speed railway and Laiwu-Rongcheng high-speed railway, accelerating the opening of the main passenger passages in the eastern and northern parts of the Shandong Peninsula.

In terms of the development of the waterway network, 500 million yuan was allocated to carry out the reconstruction of the main channel of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal and the construction of the ship locks, making full use of the advantages of low water transportation cost and less pollution, and promoting the formation of a high-level inland waterway with “interconnected trunks and branches linking the north and the south”.
