China Central Television (CCTV) has published a series of official posters of a new Korean War (1950-53) movie, Crossing the Yalu River, on the day to commemorate the war’s 71st anniversary.

As Monday marks the day of 71st anniversary of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53), the posters also show the fierce battle scenes at the time, with the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) Army sacrificing their lives to win.

The movie is produced by CCTV, in partnership with China Television Production Center, Huaxia Film Distribution, and the August First Film Studio.

The movie, which is based on true events, features a string of well-known Chinese actors. The movie is set when the CPV Army enters North Korea to help in the war to resist US aggression on October 19, 1950.

The movie tells the story from the point of view of Peng Dehuai, commander and commissar of the CPV, and the stories around him. It also depicts the battle process between the CPV and the US-led United Nations Command (UNC).
