According to the first plenary meeting of the Shandong Provincial Leading Group for the Protection of Minors, Shandong has been improving the basic living standards and security levels for children in need.

At present, 245,000 children in Shandong have been included in the coverage of the “two subsidies” guarantee for orphans, de facto unattended children, children in key difficulties, subsistence allowances, extraordinary poverty, and disabled children.

This year, Shandong has allocate 3.8 billion yuan to raise the standard of the basic living guarantee for people in difficulties, including all kinds of children in need, by another 10% on the basis of the standard increase in 2020.
