In order to further strengthen the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and reduce the burden on citizens, the maximum price of COVID-19 nucleic acid testing items in public medical institutions at all levels in Shandong has been adjusted to not more than 45 yuan per person per time, effective from August 20.

According to the policy interpretation issued by the Health Care Security Administration of Shandong Province on August 19, zero-markup policy continues to be followed in the pricing of nucleic acid testing reagents. The payment standard by medical insurance is adjusted to a testing fee of 45 yuan per person per time plus the actual price of the test reagent purchased by medical institutions.

In terms of mixed nucleic acid testing conducted in accordance with the requirements of the prevention and control of the pandemic and the technical standards of relevant health departments, the price of mixed testing for 5 samples is 23 yuan per person per time, and that for 10 samples is 12 yuan. No additional fees such as testing reagents is to be charged.

For those who only take nucleic acid testing, registration fees and outpatient examination fees (general diagnosis and treatment fees) are not to be charged. Public medical institutions at all levels shall set up special windows and areas to provide sampling services.

The pricing policy of COVID-19 nucleic acid testing issued this time is a temporary measure for the prevention and control of the pandemic. It went into effect on August 20, 2021, and will be automatically abolished when the pandemic is over.
