Shandong sets up a new energy industry fund of 5.05 billion yuan

In order to accelerate the realization of the targets of “peaking carbon dioxide emissions” and “realizing carbon neutrality”, Shandong New Growth Drivers Fund Management Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Shandong Development & Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., recently initiated a new energy industry fund of 5.05 billion yuan.

The fund aims to solve the problems of homogenization, decentralization, duplication and fragmentation of investment, pool high-quality resources in the province, and jointly support major new energy projects, focusing on supporting new energy projects in the field of energy storage, the transmission of power into Shandong from outside, and offshore wind power, etc.

In terms of the energy storage industry, the fund plans to invest in the construction of 300 MW energy storage power stations in cities including Weifang, Binzhou and Dongying, the construction of 400MW energy storage power stations in cities such as Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, and Zibo, for the peak shaving of power grid, and the construction of 300 MW energy storage stage in Weifang, Zaozhuang, Jining, Heze, and other areas with heavy line loads to prepare for accident response.

In terms of the field of the transmission of power into Shandong from outside, the fund plans on the development and construction projects of new bases of energy transmission from East Gansu, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, etc. to Shandong. The electricity will be sent to Shandong through the UHV channel to provide clean energy supply.

In terms of the field of “Offshore Wind Power+”, the fund plans to carry out strategic cooperation with Qingdao, Rizhao, Dongying, Binzhou, etc., and actively participate in the investment and construction of 6 million-kilowatt offshore wind farms in Lubei (North Shandong), Laizhou Bay, Bozhong (Central Bohai Sea), Changdao, Bandaobei (North Shandong Penisula) and Bandaonan (South Shandong Penisula), to create an “offshore wind power +” integrated industrial cluster.
