“Policy briefing concerning the listing of Taiwan-funded enterprises” held in Shandong

On July 6, the “policy briefing concerning the listing of Taiwan-funded enterprises” was jointly held by the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shandong Province and Shandong Local Financial Supervision and Administration in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, attended by representatives of relevant departments, securities companies, law firms and 35 Taiwan-funded enterprises across the province.

At the briefing, the head of the relevant departments briefed on the development and effectiveness of Shandong's promotion of enterprise listing, and proposed measures of financing support for Taiwanese-invested enterprises.

The attendees also interpreted for the reference of Taiwanese entrepreneurs and enterprises the basic situation and development trend of Taiwan-funded enterprises on the Chinese mainland, the reform of the IPO registration system and the latest regulatory policies, the capital markets and comprehensive financial services on the mainland, and laws and regulations in the operation of Taiwan-funded enterprises, etc.

According to Liu Yuan, director of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shandong Province, Taiwan-funded enterprises have become a major force among the market players in Shandong, making significant achievements in the fields of new materials, modern agriculture, modern manufacturing and modern service industries. The province will establish a sound system to support the listing of Taiwan-funded enterprises, strengthen communication and coordination between relevant departments, help enterprises solve problems and difficulties encountered in their listing, and promote enterprises to make greater progress in their listing on the Chinese mainland.

According to reports, from January to June this year, Shandong approved 65 new Taiwan-funded projects, with a contractual amount of Taiwanese investment of $860 million, and $168 million in actual use of Taiwanese investment. As of June 2021, a total of 9,456 Taiwan-funded projects have been approved in the province, with a contractual amount of $45.11 billion in Taiwanese investment and $29 billion in actual use of Taiwanese investment.
