According to the press conference held this morning, Shandong continues to implement the project of “100 parks, 1,000 towns and 10,000 villages”. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Shandong will build more than 100 provincial-level modern agricultural industrial parks, more than 1,000 provincial-level strong towns of modern agricultural industries, and more than 10,000 provincial-level famous villages of local industries.

Li Xixin, director-general of Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, introduced that Shandong will take measures to improve the quality and benefit, and competitiveness of agriculture and step up efforts in industrial upgrading. Setting its sights on the characteristic agricultural products such as Shouguang’s vegetable, Qixia’s apple, Jinxiang’s garlic and Zhangqiu’s green onion, the province will formulate custom-made cultivation programs for them and select the best products to promote. Focusing on competitive regional industries such as high-quality husbandry, Qilu grain and oil, and featured aquatic products, the province is scheduled to build a batch of competitive and characteristic industrial clusters with a value of 100 billion yuan or 10 billion yuan. At the same time, Shandong will implement the whole-chain cultivation plan for the agricultural industry, make plan for the production, processing and circulation of agricultural products, carry out evaluation in high-quality development of agricultural processing industry and give rewards to counties performing excellent in agricultural processing. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shandong plans to build 50 provincial-level strong counties of agricultural product processing and 600 demonstration enterprises of agricultural product processing.
