Shandong achieves 13.83 bln yuan in cross-border e-commerce in 2020

According to the news conference held on Monday, in 2020, the overall import and export of Shandong’s cross border e-commerce reached 13.83 billion yuan, up 366.2% year on year. In detail, the online bonded import reached 2.25 billion yuan, up 484.4% year on year, and the cross-border direct-purchasing export reached 5.04 billion yuan, up 101.6 %.

Shao Bai, the primary inspector of Qingdao Customs, said that compared with the traditional trade, the new form of trade is more flexible, fast and small in piece, which is closer to the needs of consumers. It can also drive the development of related industries such as logistics, warehousing and distribution service, and will be a key field for the diversified development of foreign trade in the future.

“Note that since Sept. 1 of 2020, Qingdao Customs and Jinan Customs have carried out the pilot of cross-border e-commerce business-to-business export supervision, and the export value of this mode reached 6.34 billion yuan after only four months of operation,” added Shao. In addition, last year, Shandong province achieved the export of 34.34 billion yuan through the way of market procurement trade, up 84.5% year on year. On the basis of the market procurement carried out by the Engineering Materials Market of Shandong Linyi Mall in 2020, Qingdao Jimo International Trade Mall and Yantai Sanzhan Wholesale Market were approved to carry out market procurement, which will also bring new benefits to the rapid development of Shandong's new type of trade.
