World Health Organization (WHO) experts tasked with the origin-tracing of the novel coronavirus will fly to Wuhan, central China, on Thursday from Singapore, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian revealed at Tuesday's daily briefing.

Zhao did not provide further details on their itinerary, adding China will share further information if there's any.

China's National Health Commission (NHC) Monday announced WHO experts will come to China on January 14 to conduct joint research with Chinese scientists on the origin-tracing of the novel coronavirus, the third such visit since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zhao has told Monday's briefing that China supports international scientists in carrying out global scientific research on the origin and route of transmission of the COVID-19 virus, as well as member states in conducting cooperation on the animal origin of the virus under the leadership of the WHO.

China invited 10 international experts, in February and July last year, to come to the country, and Chinese experts have maintained frequent interactions with the WHO and international experts through video seminars, introducing China's origin-tracing outcomes.
