Shandong signs 13 key projects at cross-border e-commerce ecosystem conference

The Shandong Cross-border E-commerce Ecosystem Conference, with the theme of "Building a New Ecosystem & Constructing a New Pattern", was held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province on Nov. 25, 2020. Departments of commerce, customs, taxation and foreign exchange held dialogues and exchanges on optimizing the development environment of cross-border e-commerce, and nearly 300 foreign trade enterprises from the province attended the conference.

During the conference, a total of 13 key projects were signed including the national-level cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot projects in Qingdao, Jinan and Weihai, as well as market procurement pilot and strategic cooperation with overseas warehouses.

According to the Three-year Plan for the Upgrading and Development of Cross-border E-commerce and Other New Business Forms in Shandong, the province plans to exceed 100 billion yuan in the import and export of cross-border e-commerce, 100 billion yuan in the export of procurement from market, and 6 billion yuan in the import and export of bonded maintenance.

From January to October this year, the import and export of cross-border e-commerce in Shandong increased by 145.2%, and the export of market procurement trade increased by 66.9%. At present, Shandong has 7 state-level comprehensive test zones for cross-border e-commerce, 3 market purchase and trade pilot zones, and several comprehensive bonded zones with service of bonded maintenance, which provide new development opportunities for cross-border e-commerce.
