Finals of 2nd National Women's Housekeeping Service Competition held in Jinan

The finals of 2nd National Women's Housekeeping Service Competition were held in Jinan, capital of East China’ Shandong province from October 18 to 20. The competition was jointly hosted by All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom), Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS), and Shandong Provincial People’s Government. 160 contestants in 32 teams from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, as well as from Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, participated in the finals.

The finals of the competition, held through a combination of theory test and skill contest, consist of 3 basic categories, namely housekeeping, housekeeping tutoring and housekeeping management. Among these, the housekeeping category is further divided into three, namely housework, maternal-child care and elderly care. Housekeeping tutoring and housekeeping managing are two newly added categories in this year’s competition, an innovation to promote high-quality development of women's housekeeping service. After fierce competition, 100 contestants won out.

Since the launching of the competition in July, 50,000 candidates across the country participated in the competition, including 2,000 women from registered impoverished families. According to the ACWF, women’s federations of all levels have helped establish more than 140 women's housekeeping associations and alliances, contacted and served more than 10,000 housekeeping enterprises and more than 1.5 million women housekeepers, helping more than 700,000 women get rid of poverty through providing housekeeping service since 2017.
