China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival opens in Qufu

The 2020 China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival and the 6th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations opened on September 27 in Qufu, East China's Shandong province. Over 160 experts, scholars and guests from home and abroad gathered in Nishan to conduct exchanges and dialogue on the theme of "civilization reflects the future ", tap into the wisdom of ancient civilizations, and jointly to explore ways to integrate diverse civilizations.

Shandong province, with a long history and brilliant culture, is the birthplace of Confucianism. More than 2,500 years ago, Confucius preached and lectured here, which led to the birth and spread of Confucianism.

Shandong is exploring to build two pilot zones of excellent traditional culture, construct a base for international Confucian cultural experience, and foster the Grand Canal and the Great Wall of Qi national park. The province is vigorously promoting cultural exchanges with countries along the "Belt and Road" aiming to realize multi-field cooperation via cultural exchanges. It is promoting the construction of overseas branches of Nishan World Confucianism Center, exploring new ways and means of exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

In addition to the open, closing ceremony and the memorial ceremony, one high-end dialogue, two keynote speeches, 14 group dialogues and the Youth Forum will be held.
