On Dec. 26, foreigners from America, Germany, France, Brazil and Lithuania visited Confucius Museum in Qufu, Shandong Province. Through listening to the stories of cultural relics and enjoying the pleasure brought by cultural products, they had a deeper understanding of the long and profound history of Chinese culture.

According to one of its staff members, the main hall of the Confucius museum is a large modern museum with distinct themes and comprehensive functions. The permanent exhibition is divided into ascending space and descending space. The ascending part consists of the era of Confucius, life of Confucius, wisdom of Confucius, Confucius and Chinese civilization, Confucius and world civilization, and eternal Confucius. The descending part is composed of cultural relics and history of the Confucius Family Mansion.

“I like this museum. It is full of achievements of technological and cultural innovations. Talking with Confucius by WeChat, taking Confucius as my teacher, learning The Analects of Confucius, playing Chinese Guqin...all these things are so creative and let me learn a lot,” said Qu Cheng, an international student from Brazil.

Confucius Museum is an extension of the cultural heritage of the Confucius Family Mansion, Confucius Temple and Cemetery of Confucius. It has 700,000 pieces of cultural relics, including 300,000 pieces of private documents of Confucius Family from the Ming Dynasty until 1948, 40,000 volumes of ancient books from the Song Dynasty to present, 8,000 articles of clothing from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and a large number of ritual instruments related to the worship of Confucius. It is a testimony to the long and splendid history of Qufu, the homeland of Confucius.
