The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) is scheduled to run from Nov. 5 to Nov. 10 in Shanghai. Up to now, more than 7,900 Shandong enterprises and organizations registered for the trade delegation and more than 21,000 got approved and submitted applications for certificate, an increase of 80 percent over last year.

According to the China International Import Expo Bureau, many exhibitors that participated in the first CIIE have signed up for the event again this year. More than 3,000 companies from over 150 countries and regions confirmed their attendance by the close of registration in May.

Shandong trade delegation yielded positive results in the first CIIE last year. This year Shandong attached great importance to the participation in the fair and sent a provincial delegation to form up the “2+15+2” system, namely, the provincial and Qingdao trade delegations, 15 municipal trade delegations, and 2 trade delegations of the Health Commission of Shandong Province and Shandong Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

On Nov. 6, Shandong will hold an introduction and marketing event of building a new highland of opening up, which will focus on the highlights of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Demonstration Zone for Local Economic and Trade Cooperation with SCO. About 180 foreign representatives and 140 domestic representatives will attend the event.

During the expo, Shandong will hold exhibitions of time-honored brands and intangible cultural heritage with 26 participating enterprises to tell Shandong stories and promote Shandong culture.
