Hong Kong police have detained five people for insulting the national flag, reports CCTV news.
The detainees, four men and one woman, are aged 20 to 22.
They were suspected of removing the Chinese national flag from a flagpole in Tsim Sha Tsui on August 3 and later flinging the flag into the water.
The central government strongly condemned such acts.
