Qufu in Jining, is the birthplace of Confucius, the Oriental holy city and the cradle of Confucian culture. On June 15, more than one hundred international students visited the Experience Center of Confucius Institute Headquarters in Jining to explore the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

Following the narrator, the international students walked into the antique experience base which is full of oriental flavor. A simple and elegant grey gate stands at the entrance of the experience base, with four Chinese characters "Limen Yilu" on it. In the experience area, the students were deeply impressed by a traditional Chinese coming-of-age ceremony. "The ceremony is really amazing. Having been passed down for thousands of years, it is rigorous, solemn and elegant, which offers participants a deeper understanding of the moment of 'coming-of-age'", said a student.

The students went through exhibition areas. The most attractive one is undoubtedly the movable-type printing area. "We have long heard that the movable-type printing is one of the four great inventions of ancient China, but this is the first time for me to see it with my own eyes." A dozen students queued up to try movable-type printing, having seen staff members demonstrate how to print with matrix.

The Confucius Institute is the only specialized agency of the study of Confucianism approved by the State Council, integrating the function of academic research, cultural exchange, literature collection, talent cultivation and natural science exhibition aiming to build a world Confucianism research and exchange center.

Covering an area of about 18,000 square meters, the experience base of Confucius Institute Headquarters includes two experience areas of the excellent traditional cultural in life and Confucius and Confucianism, and the world Confucian literature collection center. Teachers and students from over 100 countries have visited the experience base since 2018, actively promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries.
