Conference held in Jinan, Shandong to boost China-Central Asia cooperation

The fourth Conference on Dialogue of China-Central Asia Cooperation kicked off on May 13 in Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong province.

The conference attracted more than 160 participants including local representatives from five Central Asian countries and China, experts in fields of economy, education and journalism, entrepreneurs and representatives of friendship organizations, and diplomatic envoys from five central Asian countries and the SCO in China.

Focusing on the theme of the Belt and Road, the attendees had in-depth discussions on developing friendship city relations, promoting regional integration and promoting economic and educational cooperation between China and the five central Asian countries.

The two-day conference included a main forum featuring industrial cooperation between the BRI countries and three sub-forums themed around media agencies exchange, education and Jinan-Central Asia cooperation respectively.

A series of agreements were signed at the first day’s conference, which will help China and the five Central Asian countries reach new consensus, establish new mechanisms and add new impetus to their cooperation.

The event will give a strong boost to cooperation between China, Jinan in particular, and the five Central Asian countries in local and industrial cooperation, education and youth exchanges, people-to-people exchanges and media platform sharing.
