The 16th Qingdao Hongdao Clam Festival will be held from April 30 to May 5 in Hongdao Economic Zone, Qingdao, east China's Shandong province.

During the six days, a series of tourist events including ecological sightseeing, recreational fishery, seafood feast and folk custom experience is scheduled to be held to meet citizens' demands of entertainment.

As the main venue of the festival, Hongdao Recreational Fishing Village will host a variety of activities such as clam digging, artistic performance and food festival to let tourists enjoy nature.

Huanglan Ganhai Park, boasting thousands of mu of mudflat, is the other main venue of the festival. Due to abundant microorganisms, it is particularly suitable for the growth of shellfish and was one of the first places of origin for the export of shellfish products.

Hanjia Folk Customs Village will push out new clam feasts on the basis of traditional Hongdao food. Tourists will enjoy a half-price discount during the festival here and with a festival ticket, tourists also enjoy free admission to the village and Qingyun Palace.
