Shandong committed to developing industrial tourism

With people’s growing understanding of tourism resources, industrial tourism has become a new concept and new form of tourism in China. Industrial tourism has a long history in developed countries, but is still a new comer in China.

In recent years, more and more modern enterprises in China turn their attention to industrial tourism. In recent years, not a few industrial enterprises including Qingdao Haier, Shanghai Baosteel, Guangdong Midea and Foshan Haitian have opened to visitors with many projects obtaining excellent economic benefits.

Recently, Shandong launched the Industrial Tourism Development Plan (2018-2025) (the Plan for short). According to the plan, in the next seven years, Shandong will guide enterprises to enhance interaction and experience of tourists by the combination of traditional recreation, experience economy and art performances.

At the same time, Shandong will utilize various industrial bases, industrial sites and industrial parks to carry out additional activities such as film and television shooting, painting and sketching, artistic creation, popular science training and educational practice.

The Plan pointed out the existing problems in the development of industrial tourism in the province. Most of the projects are still at the primary stage and the products lack of interactivity, enjoyment and amusement.

In the future, Shandong will encourage enterprises to attaches great importance to the research and development of tourist commodities, and develop portable industrial tourism commodities surrounding articles of daily use, electronic products, book publishing, agricultural products processing and other fields to foster the tourism shopping industry system in Shandong, and design top ten industrial tourism products systems focusing on sightseeing factories, industrial parks and industrial museums.
