As one of the important forums of the 7th Shandong Cultural Industries Fair (SDCIF), Shandong Social Sciences Forum --the Seminar on Canal Culture Protection and Development was held recently. The seminar was sponsored by Shandong Federation of Social Sciences and organized by Dezhou University.

Fu Chonglan, a researcher of the Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies of CASS, Wu Xin, dean of the Canal Culture Institute of Liaocheng University, Li Quan, a professor of Liaocheng University, and Ji Guiqi, former deputy Party secretary of Dezhou University, delivered a keynote speech respectively at the forum.

Experts discussed and exchanged views on the topics of the protection and development of canal cultural resources, the excavation and inheritance of the canal’s cultural heritage, and the social changes of the canal region.

More than 100 experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Heilongjiang University, Shandong Normal University, Qufu Normal University, Liaocheng University and other universities and institutes attended the seminar.

Zhou Zhonggao, deputy secretary of the leading Party group and vice chairman of Shandong Federation of Social Sciences attended and made a speech on the seminar.
