Highlights of Eighth National Children Quyi Exhibition

The Eighth National Children Quyi Exhibition was staged in Zhangjiagang, a port city in Jiangsu province, from July 31 to Aug 3.

A total of 357 young performers delivered a wide range of Chinese traditional Quyi styles; with 65 items of over 40 varieties being staged including crosstalk, Suzhou Pingtan (ballad singing in Suzhou dialect) and allegro.

Quyi is a traditional Chinese art form featuring a variety of activities such as ballad singing, storytelling, comic dialogues and Chinese crosstalk.
