Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (QNHIDZ) and the Academy of Space Information of CAS signed a memorandum on the establishment of Qingdao Institute of Space Information of CAS in QNHIDZ of Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province on June 28, 2018.

Zhang Deping, the deputy mayor of Qingdao met with Sun Dianyi, the vice president of ASI and his group on the signing ceremony. Jiang Bo, the director of Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau, and Xue Runbo, the executive vice director of the Leading Group for Investment Invitation and Promotion of QNHIDZ, attended the event.

Zhang Deping said Qingdao has been stressing the leading role of innovation to accelerate the shift of development driving forces, improve both the quality and quantity of economic development, and promote economic transformation and upgrading.

To this end, Qingdao has made great progress to attract the high-end innovative resources including various institutes of CAS, hoping the leading role of Qingdao Institute of Space Information will help Qingdao to achieve a leaping development.

Sun Dianyi said that Qingdao is a city with a large number of universities and scientific research institutions and has strong capacity for research, development and innovation.

In the future, the two parties will speed up the construction of Qingdao Institute of Space Information of CAS. In the spirit of looking into the future and achieving win-win innovation, both sides will conduct prospective research and S&T achievements transformation and industrialization, forge a high-end industrial layout as soon as possible, promote the shift of driving forces in Qingdao and the construction of Demonstration Zone of Independent Development in Shandong Peninsula as well as build a demonstration highland of cooperation between Qingdao and CAS.
