The national symposium on the work of innovative S&T parks was held on May 5 in Wuxi, east China’s Jiangsu Province.Representatives from 18 innovative S&T parks gave a speech at the meeting and another 24 high-tech zones attended it.

The symposium is aimed at making a summary of the achievements in the construction of innovative S&T parks, conducting an analysis on measures and tasks in achieving high-quality development, and specifying new historical mission, strategic positioning and development target of the park.

The meeting is said to provide a platform for S&T parks to exchange experience face to face and seek more opportunities for development and cooperation.

As one of the innovative S&T parks, Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (QNHIDZ) takes part in the meeting and Xiao Yanheng, a member of QNHIDZ working committee and vice director of QNHIDZ management committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.

Xiao said that QNHIDZ still lags far behind those world-class high-tech zones and will step up efforts in shifting the driving forces of development and ushering in the strategic new development.

Next, QNHIDZ is to learn from experience of advanced high-tech zones, keep moving towards the innovative development strategy, increase efforts in building innovative S&T parks, attract more high-caliber talents, deepen the industrial organization pattern, expand industrial advantages, and advance reform and innovation in all areas, so as to build itself a core powerhouse of innovation-driven development and new growth pole of economic development of Qingdao, as well as a pacesetter in constructing national independent innovation demonstration area in Shandong Peninsula.
