Jining promotes cultural and tourism resources in Beijing

Jining city, Shandong province held an event in Beijing to promote its cultural and tourism resources on March 17, 2018.

Known as hometown of Confucius and Mencius and canal capital, Jining, boasts a long history as well as rich cultural and tourism resources. It is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and the place of origin of Confucian culture.

Jining is the home to 36 key national-level cultural relics protection units and 119 A-level scenic areas. Among them, the Confucian Temple, Kong Family Mansion, Cemetery of Confucius and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in Jining are world cultural heritages. "The birthplace of sage" "Culture" and "Water town", three calling cards of Jining's tourist industry, summarizes the prominent features of Jining city.

Over the past five years, Jining have been constantly deepening reform and innovation, has optimized the allocation of resources, improved the construction of supporting facilities and been making great efforts to develop holistic tourism to build Jining into an internationally famous city of cultural tourism.

In 2017, Jining received 66.61 million visitors from home and abroad and the tourism consumption totaled 68.8 billion yuan, both being among the highest in Shandong province.

To further promote cooperation between Jining and Beijing in the field of tourism, Jining has launched four special tourism products: the holy land cultural experience tour, Chinese classics study tour, canal-Weishan Lake leisure tour and rural ecology tour. Relevant incentive policies have also been issued.

The local government of Jining has set up a special office designated for the attraction of investment in culture and tourism. A batch of tourism projects had been selected to be promoted during the event held in Beijing.
