Four parallel sub-forums have been held at the Media Leaders Summit for Asia in Sanya, Hainan Province. Topics of discussion include communication and cooperation, the Belt and Road Initiative, China's Reform and Opening Up, as well as cultural exchanges among Asian nations.

1. Communication and cooperation among media organizations to build a common destiny in Asia

U Ko Ko, Vice Chairman of Shwethanlwin Media in Myanmar and Chief of the country's Democracy Today newspaper says China has enjoyed noticeable economic achievements and made many friends since Reform and Opening Up 40 years ago. He also says he sees the Media Leaders' Summit for Asia as a good example of how Asian nations can learn from China's experience in opening up, maintaining stability and development.

2. Development of the Belt and Road Initiative and new opportunities for international broadcast

Argentine media adviser Fernando Pedrosa says China's "Belt and Road Initiative" offers a great platform for international cooperation. Pedrosa is also calling for better facilities and deeper understanding among the world's countries.

Seyed Zia Hashemi, Chief of Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency says the media plays an important part in promoting peace and fighting terrorism. He is calling for sound plans and cooperation to create equal opportunities for international media exchanges.

3. Reform and Opening Up 40 years on: China's development and opportunities for the world

Chief of Laos' state media, Bounchao Phichit, says the Reform and Opening Up Policy is taking China closer to realizing the Chinese Dream, while creating more opportunities for the world. Phichit suggests Chinese investment in Laos, which is over 7 billion US dollars, is helping Laos' development.
