According to a press conference held on March 26 in Jinan, the average concentration of PM 2.5 (Particulate Matter 2.5) in Shandong is 57μg/m3 in 2017, 4μg/m3 lower than the national assigned task.

Last year Shandong launched a plan for tackling with difficult and prominent environmental problems. The plan has listed 55 detailed tasks of environment improvement, among which 50 were completely finished, accounting for 94.34% of the total amount, and 3 were basically finished, accounting for 5.66% of the total amount.

Next, Shandong is to outline a three-year plan to battle against the environment pollution.

By the end of 2017, Shandong has generally completed 53 tasks listed in the plan. The other two remain to be settled are the test and the installation of particulate traps in diesel vehicle.

Guan Yanming, member of the Party group and vice director-general of Shandong Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau, said that Shandong has made a stage achievement in air pollution control.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, the average of PM 2.5 in Jinan, Zibo, Jining, Dezhou, Liaocheng, Binzhou and Heze --- seven cities of the transmission channel of air pollution, fall by 25%, 25%, 21%, 33.7%, 26.2%, 27.3% and 16% respectively.

Shandong is to deal with the environment problems from three aspects. First is to pay attention to the rectification of prominent environment issues. Second, Shandong plans to build a long-term air pollution control mechanism. Last but not the least, Shandong will outline a three-year provincial-level plan for fighting against the air pollution.
