Jinan Vehicle Management Station released the latest data related to the pass rate of driving test in Jinan. A decline can be seen in the four subjects of driving test last year compared to 2016, among which “the car is not in the neutral gear when starting” and “dipped light is not open when meeting with other vehicles” are two key items for examinees that easily get penalty points.

Statistics show that a total of 761,000 people took the driving test (four subjects in total) last year. Only 151,000 people are lucky to get their driver’s licenses, realizing an average pass rate of 83.95%.

Sun Ji’an, the deputy director of Jinan Vehicle Management Station, said that two key changes were seen in last year’s test: one is the enablement of Chengxi Driving Test Center for “subject 2” portion; the other is the new driving test regulation coming into force in October last year. The two changes brought more difficulties to the examinees to adapt the new conditions. That’s why in general, the pass rate of driving test declined last year.

The pass rate of “subject 1” level fell 0.69%, while the “subject 2” part dropped 4.56% and “subject 3” part dropped 3.01%.

Data shows that examinees often make mistakes in such items of “subject 2” portion as the car body crossing the limited parking zone, and so on. Moreover, when the car stops in the ramp, the front bumper of the car should fall on the line of alignment pole with 50cm remained front and rear. But most of the examinees cannot pass this.

Stalling of engine caused by improper operation is one of the big troubles for examinees in the “subject 3” portion.
