Shandong now has 55,000 family farms, 186,000 farmers’ cooperatives, and 9,600 leading agricultural enterprises above designated scale, with 1,800 rural households participating in the industrialized operation, increasing their income 2,680 yuan per household, according to a press brief held today.

Yu Yongde, vice inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture, said Shandong is striving for a new industrial mode, which integrates the primary industry, secondary industry with tertiary industry. The driving entities of the new industry are expanding; its developing mode has taken initial shape; the benefit coupling mechanism was well established. In short, everything is going on the right track.

There are as many as 19,000 business entities of all kinds of leisure agriculture, with an annual turnover of 63 billion yuan. In addition, Shandong has built 20 national-level demonstration counties of leisure agriculture and rural tourism and 30 national-level demonstration sites of leisure agriculture and rural tourism.

In 2017, 28 counties (cities, districts) have carried out the demonstration projects of ecological recycling agriculture, covering an area of 10,050,000 mu. The list of well-known agricultural brands is formed with 23 regional public brands and 200 product brands, with more than 0.5 billion yuan invested over the past three years.
