Shandong has constructed 6,126 workshops for poverty alleviation, creating about 126,000 jobs for the poor people.

Since the launch of the campaign against poverty, Shandong has explored a new trail in poverty alleviation with workshop as a carrier and by arranging poverty-stricken people to work locally, said Duan Kuipei, an official of Shandong Provincial Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation and Development.

In addition, the workshops for poverty alleviation built in Shandong contribute a lot to relieving the labor shortage and enhancing the competitiveness of development. The workshop for poverty relief is one of the 12 typical cases of the 29th collective learning session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Shandong Provincial Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation and Development, in collaboration with Shandong Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, begins to draw up the local standard for constructing workshops for targeted poverty alleviation, which comprises 105 items and 8 chapters.

The standard specifies contents about the construction principles of the workshop, the operation and management, the financing, source of labor supply and income distribution, so as to provide a reference standard for the construction of such workshops and ensure a green, safe and sustainable development.
