Chinese electric car producer WM Motor launched its new electric SUV, the EX5, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai on December 11, 2017, reports sina.com.cn.

The new vehicle has a starting price tag of 200,000 yuan (about 30,224 U.S. dollars) with a maximum mileage of 600km and an endurance distance of more than 450 kilometers under the comprehensive working condition.

The new SUV is said to come fully connected to the Internet and provide a seamless experience for user consistency.

The EX5 comes with a wind resistance coefficient of less than 0.3, which is rare for SUVs.

It also provides intelligent interactive windows and a rotary intelligent touch screen, among other features.

The company says it has applied the world's first dynamic Logo (Living Logo), with gradual colors inspired by auroras, a symbol of Always On's power and real-time interaction.

According to the company, the EX5 is scheduled to accept orders at the Beijing Auto Show in April next year.

Production will start in the second quarter of next year, and mass production will be accomplished in the second half of the year.

WM Motor is headquartered in Shanghai. Its new factory in Wenzhou has an estimated annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles.

The company is a local competitor of American firm Tesla, which has reportedly been exploring the possibility of producing its vehicles in China.

WM Motor plans to reach annual sales of 100,000 in three to four years and plans to launch three new electric cars in 2020.
