The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said Thursday they started investigation into allegations that actor and former football player Terry Crews was sexually assaulted.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Crews filed his case to the LAPD Hollywood station Wednesday.

LAPD refused to disclose more details other than Crews' claims on his official tweeter page last month saying he was a victim of sexual assault by a high-level Hollywood executive in 2016.

"My wife n I were at a Hollywood function last year n a high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates," he tweeted on Oct. 10, days after movie mogul Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment scandal was revealed by media.

Since then, more sexual assault allegations have been made against Hollywood's elites, including actors Kevin Spacey, Ed Westwick, filmmaker James Toback and Oscar-winning actor Dustin Hoffman.

"This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME," the actor tweeted.

He also said: "I let it go. And I understand why many women who this happens to let it go."

Crews, who is 1.9 m tall and weighs more than 200 kg, is a former football player and current famous TV star in the United States. He always plays the role of "tough man" in TV series, such as Sergeant Terry Jeffords in the Fox sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Crews did not tell reporters who the "high-level Hollywood executive" assaulting him is, but Variety, a weekly American entertainment trade magazine and website, broke the news early this month that his name is Adam Venit, the longtime head of the leading talent agent company WME. Venit is on leave from the agency amid the allegation, the report said.

Venit has worked with many super stars like Emma Stone, Dustin Hoffman, Adam Sandler, and director Brett Ratner, who also faces sexual misconduct allegations.
