China’s first domestically designed and developed two-seater electric plane has made a successful maiden flight from Caihu airport in the city of Shenyang, Liaoning Province, on November 1, 2017.

The cutting edge RX1E-A can fly for up to 2 hours making it viable for international markets, and is equipped with an integrated parachute to make it safer for both the pilot and the plane in case of an emergency.

The plane, which will mainly be used for pilot training, private transport, sightseeing, aerial photography and mapping, can fly at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

Apart from zero-emissions, it is less noisy, and cost-effective.
