An Austrian man has managed to make paper-cut works after spending three weeks studying the skill in Shijiazhuang, capital of North China's Hebei province.

Seventy-seven-year-old painter Yahake (a translated name) was impressed by the delicate Chinese paper-cuts and went to Zhou Shuying Paper-cuts Art Museum in Shijiazhuang last month to learn how to master it.

Zhou Shuying, an inheritor of the Hebei Yuxian county paper-cuts, a national intangible cultural heritage, taught him how to sharpen a knife for paper-cutting and cut different designs.

After studying, Yahake made some paper-cuts depicting butterflies and flowers.

He hopes he can learn more in the future and hold a personal paper-cut works exhibition in Austria.
