The building is not only a unique identity tag of a city but the testimony of a nation’s history. “Cultural Heritage Protection” national media tour arrived at Shandong Energy Zibo Mining Group Co., Ltd. on October 30 to explore the history on the building.

German-Japanese building group is located in Hongshan Town of Zichuan District, covering an area of 4661 square meters and with a building area of 7179 square meters. It is a modern building influenced by the West. Among the 18 buildings, 13 are the German-style buildings and the rest are of the Japanese-style, which were built during their invasion of China.

In 2004, to maximally protect the German-Japanese building group, Zibo Mining Group engaged experts of ancient architecture to have a thorough examination of the buildings and formulated a maintenance plan. After the repair, the original style of the building surface remains the same while the inside are renovated based on actual situation with no damage to the original style. In July, 2013, the German-Japanese building group was included on the list of the 7th batch of national major cultural relics protection unit.
