Zhaizi Gu Village is a small mountain village 15 kilometers away from Linqu County, where people live a simple rural life generation after generation. With the implementation of the “rural memory project” and the development of rural tourism, the village has reinforced the protection of the original ecological environment and the ancient dwellings. The “Cultural heritage Protection” national media delegation arrived here on October 29 to explore the charm of the village.

Zhaizi Gu Village was established in the Jia Jing period of the Ming Dynasty with a total construction area of 25 hectares. The traditional building covers an area of 16 hectares. The village is embraced by mountains on which the houses are built. Numerous persimmon trees decorate the village a world of “red lanterns” in the deep autumn.

Zhaizi Gu Village was rated as the “most beautiful village” in 2014 and in 2015 it was selected as one of the second batch of provincial traditional villages. The traditional village and primitive folk custom attracted more and more visitors to enjoy the peach blossom, pick the persimmons, take photos and paint from life. Giving full play to the advantages of the ecological resources, Zhaizi Gu Village developed the rural experience tourism as well as rural tour and sightseeing.

With more income, villagers pay more attention to the protection of the old buildings and the ecological environment. At present, most young people in the village have moved to new houses built at the foot of the mountain, only a few old people still remain and live a simple farm life here.
