The rural living and production appliances such as kerosene lamp, straw raincoat, drinking manger and air bellow which were common in the past may soon disappear. People in Huiqu town of Weifang city set up a folk museum to collect and exhibit these rural appliances. The media delegation of “Culture Heritage Protection” arrived at the museum to get a glimpse of Huiqu’s long history and the farmers’ rural life as well as to seek for a beautiful rural memory.

Weifang Huiqu Folk Museum located in Huiqu town of Anqiu city, covers a total area of over 30 mu with a exhibition area of 1200 square meters. It has five halls, the exhibition hall of ancient culture, the hall of historical and cultural celebrities in Huiqu, the hall of the history of Qiunan county, the hall of revolutionary martyrs and the folk-custom exhibition hall.

The design of the museum highlights the ancient culture of Huiqu, the folk culture and the traditional handicraft. It plays an important role in the excavation, preservation and inheritance of the folk art. It has become a collection base of the rural memory and appointed as a training base for the red education of teenagers.

Huiqu town boasts beautiful natural landscape and profound historical and cultural deposits. In June 2015, Baoquan village in Huiqu town was selected as one of the first batch of “rural memory project” cultural heritages in Shandong.
