'Shandong Goes Ahead in the China-Korea FTA' coverage activity kicks off in Jinan

  The launching ceremony and press conference of the “Shandong Goes Ahead in the China-Korea FTA” coverage activity was held on September 14 in Jinan, capital of China’s Shandong province.

  Wang Shinong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Party Committee presented the flag to representative of the media delegation Pan Junqiang, reporter of People's Daily.

  The launching ceremony and press conference of the “Shandong Goes Ahead in the China-Korea FTA” coverage activity was held on September 14 in Jinan, capital of China’s Shandong province.

  The activity is jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Party Committee, the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government and the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province and organized by sdchina.com. Reporters and bloggers from China and South Korea will conduct in-depth coverage on the structural complementarity of Chinese and Korean economy, Shandong’s exploration and system innovation in terms of cooperation with South Korea. The coverage activity aims at publicizing the preparation, policies and measures Shandong has made to promote the comprehensive cooperation and in-depth integration with South Korea as well as the boost of Shandong’s industrial transformation and upgrading.

  Wang Shinong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Party Committee, pointed out in his speech the signing of the China-Korea FTA has brought historic opportunity for the opening up of Shandong province. Shandong province should make full use of the opportunity to introduce the results, experience and planning that Shandong has achieved across the nation, to South Korea and the world.

  Sun Jianbo, deputy director-general of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, said since the China-Korea FTA was signed on June 1 in Seoul, the economic and trade relations between China and South Korea usher in a new period of integrated development.

  The China-Korea FTA for the first time stipulates the establishment of the China-Korea local economic cooperation demonstration area and allows Shandong and South Korea to develop trial cooperation projects in trade, investment, industries and service. The China-Korea industrial part which will be included in the framework of China-Korea FTA, is one of Shandong’s important achievements of the building of an open economy.

  In the following four days, journalists, famous bloggers and photographers from China and South Korea will visit Jinan, Qingdao, Weihai and Yantai to conduct field coverage on Shandong’s strengthens in terms of resources, policy, service and industrial cooperation as well as to showcase the innate advantages, policy environment, experience and achievements of Shandong province.

  The activity will be reported in article, video and photo on newspaper, television and news website as well as microblog and WeChat. And sdchina.com has opens special reports where all relevant news drafts will be collected and released in Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese.

  At 9:30, Wang Shinong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Party Committee presented the flag to representative of the media delegation Pan Junqiang, reporter of People's Daily, marking the successful conclusion of the launching ceremony.
