　　"Hometown of Confucius, Shandong China" Coverage Activity of National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities is officially launched in Jinan on September 15. Shandong Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage has always been promoting the protection and inheritance work of cultural heritage, vigorously carrying forward the work of “livening up” the cultural heritage and correctly handling the relationship between construction and protection of famous historical and cultural city so as to avoid the constructive destruction of cultural heritage during urbanization.

　　You Shaoping, deputy director of  Shandong Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, said, on the basis of effective protection of key cultural relics protection units such as Confucian Family Mansion, Temple and Cemetery, Mount Tai, Badaguan, Yantai Mountain, Penglai Pavilion, etc., a multitude of museums and cultural relics protection units have become important local tourist destinations, cultural brands and city cards.

　　Shandong Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, adhering to the principle of “Four Combinations”, namely, the combination of cultural relics protection and economic and social development, the combination of scientific protection and protection in accordance with the law, the combination of effective protection and rational utilization as well as the combination of government leading and social participation, has nicely realized the “well protection of cultural relics and surroundings, sound economic and social development as well as great improvement of livelihood”. The contribution rate of cultural heritage is increasingly enhanced to the development of local economy and society, especially to famous historical and cultural cities.
