Inter-city rail projects including Qingdao-Haiyang and Hongdao-Jiaonan railways in Shandong Province were officially approved by National Development and Reform Commission on April 28, according to Qingdao Metro Group, qingdaonews.com reported.

　　Qingdao-Haiyang inter-city railway, with a total length of 114 kilometers, starts from Laoshan District, extends north to Binhai Avenue and finally reaches the terminal station, Haiyang City after Laoshan, Wangge Village and the core area of the blue silicon valley.

　　Starting from Hongdao, the Hongdao-Jiaonan inter-city railway is 101 kilometers long, and stretches south along the Jiaozhou bay then reaches Dongjia Kou, the terminal station, via Huangdao and Jiakou bay along the provincial road S293. And the construction of the railway will promote communication between Dongjia bay, Jiaonan, Huangdao and the central urban area.
